Commissioning is the process by which the artist, Azmannor, creates a work of art at a client’s request. Requesting a custom, commissioned painting (or series of paintings) provides a unique opportunity for a client to own artwork specifically created for them.
Terms
It’s important to remember that commissioning art is unique. Clients must allow for creative freedom and gauge expectations accordingly.
Commission requests must be within the parameters of the watercolour technique. When requesting a commission, you will need to define your desired intention and size. The artist will work with you to best understand your wishes.
Payment Details
Payment is accepted via:
- Cash
- Check
- Credit or Debit Card
- PayPal
*A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted price is required before the Artist will start the project. The remaining amount is due upon completion and approval of the work.
Timeframe
Turnaround time for commission work will vary. Please coordinate with the artist to discuss the details of your custom piece and agree on a timeframe that is reasonable for both parties.
Right of Refusal
It is the intent of this agreement that the Artist create artwork(s) for the Client that the Client will purchase. However, if, after the work is completed, the Client does not wish to purchase any or all of the work, the Client may refuse, on an individual basis, each piece of artwork. In that case, the Artist will retain the refused artwork and the non-refundable deposit, free of any claims or interests of the client, and the Client will owe no additional fees to the Artist. A refusal will not affect the purchase price of other artwork created for this project.
Delivery Options
The client will be responsible for covering the cost of shipping, if applicable. Please coordinate with the Artist ahead of time to discuss delivery options.
Distribution Agreement
The artist reserves the common-law copyright to all works commissioned by the collector that are created by the Artist, including all reproduction rights and the right to claim statutory copyright. No work may be reproduced by the collector without the prior written approval of the artist.
